What I really mean...

"Madame, May I?"
Another way to say...
"Get up, Get out,
I'll put away the tray!"

"I think I need to leave,
I'll come another day."
"No! I won't!
I just don't want to stay!"

"Mr. Smith if I may,
I would l like to add..."
"Hey Smith! Shut up!
Your ideas drive me mad!!"

"Hey! How's my hair?"
Says my friend posing low.
"It looks like a rake!"
"That's so Marilyn Monroe!"

Imagine I spoke my mind,
What a loner I would have been!
Not a friend, not a neighbor,
Not a stranger, not a kin!

I may be true to my thoughts,
And you'd flutter away like a bird,
But the truth is bitter,
Or so I've heard!

Thank you guys for taking your time to read this poem. I'm glad I could come up with something after so long! It's funny how we just lie to make someone feel nice or just put things another way so we don't hurt someone. I thought this might be funny but comment below if you think it is otherwise! Keep checking my blog for something new!

A Trail of Breadcrumbs

If it isn't too late to realize,
I have come a long way,
From things that used to be,
And friends who used to stay.

When I look back the path I walked,
It looks sober and serene,
Kissed by the rays of the sun,
And hugged by the shade of the tree.

Another light to wake up to,
Stretch and yawn and nuzzle the view,
Has it changed or has it not,
Some-a-same, and some-a-new.

Alone I've been now,
For quite a long while,
No friends to say good morning to,
No friends to bid goodnight.

When I look back at the path I walked,
It looks sober and serene,
Kissed by the rays of the sun,
And hugged by the shade of the tree.

And now I see an empty land,
Waiting to be paved,
With thoughts and dreams and strong goodwill,
For a future that I crave.

I saw it coming way before,
And decided to waive it off,
And the pain I feel now is terrible,
To not cherish the moments with y'all.

If I ever need refuge,
In this world where pain was made,
To find love I'll simply follow,
The trail of breadcrumbs that I've laid.

Hey! Thank you for reading my poem. It means a lot to me. But if you skipped all the way down, you get the credit anyway!
I wanted to write this poem as a tribute to all the love and friendship that I left behind in India. I want to thank everyone who stopped by in my life to give me a hug and make my day wonderful.
